At school I realised that ‘avant garde’ is the assumption of pushing something that we already know but harking back to the foundations of where it’s from and that’s what afro hair is to me. It is a classical beauty even though from the other side it is seen as ‘other’ but really you need to know where you come from to get to where you’re going.
